Let's be honest for a minute; Magic Kingdom is the perfect park for toddlers.  Aside from a few select rides, there's not much they can't do.  It's the perfect place for toddlers to experience the magic of Disney, and for adults to find their inner child again.  So in no particular order, these are my family's top 10 activities for little ones at the Magic Kingdom.

1. Peter Pan's Flight

Located in Fantasyland, this is one of my all time favorite dark rides, and my kid's new favorite as well.  While waiting in line, guests get to explore the Darling children's nursery.  This is a great way to keep them entertained, especially if you don't have a fastpass.  What sets Peter Pan's Flight apart from other dark rides is the flying pirate ship.  Yes, you read that right!  Guests get to "fly" in a pirate ship through the ride, an effect that both toddlers and adults can enjoy.

2. Under the Sea - Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Another dark ride located in Fantasyland, guests board a clam shell that takes you through the story of The Little Mermaid.  What I think makes this ride so much fun for toddlers is all of the bright colors and music.  The "Under the sea" sequence in particular is done extremely well, and has imagery straight out of the movie.  My kids absolutely love this ride, and always wave goodbye to Prince Eric and Princess Ariel as we disembark.

 3. Dumbo the Flying Elephant

Located in Fantasyland, this classic ride is a must do for toddlers.  There are fastpasses available, however this is one ride that I suggest the stand-by line when it's not too busy.  That's because there is a playground inside the big-top!  When you reach a certain point in line, you can get a beeper and take the kids onto the playground where they can play while they wait.  When it's time to get back in line, your beeper will go off and you get back in line to board your own personal Dumbo.

4. It's a Small World

We all know the song from the ride.  And if you don't, you will after the 10 minutes you spend on this relaxing boat ride around the world.  While it may not be every adult's favorite ride, it has a great message, and it is a great way to sit and cool off in the summer.  It's also super bright and colorful, which will keep little ones entertained.  My son dances the entire ride!

5. Mad Tea Party

Ready to make their teacup spin!

No trip to Magic Kingdom is complete without taking a spin in the teacups!  My kids love to see how fast they can turn the wheel, which luckily isn't very fast...yet!  This ride is a classic, and the wait is usually very quick which is a plus when you have young kids waiting.  But the best part, is that sometimes you might see Alice ride the teacups herself!

6. Prince Charming's Regal Carousel

Sure, you can ride a carousel anywhere.  But there is something about riding riding a carousel at Magic Kingdom that truly feels magical.  Kids love getting to pick out their horse, and it always brings back childhood memories for us adults.  A huge plus for riding the carousel is that the line may seem long, but it always moves very quickly.

7. Mickey Mouse at Town Square

No Disney vacation is complete without seeing our favorite mouse.  We've found this to be the best spot to take our little ones, because here Mickey will talk to you!  The way kids light up when they hear his voice is truly magical to see.  Fastpasses are offered for this meet and greet, and the lines can get long during peak seasons.  And while it's perfect for toddlers, this is one stop the whole family won't want to miss.

8. Casey Jr. Splash 'N' Soak

We were soaked!

Located in Fantasyland, this is the perfect place to let toddlers run around and cool off from the Florida heat.  Made up of train cars containing circus animals, this water play area is guaranteed to get you soaked.  This has become a must do for our family, as our daughter loves running up to all the cars and shrieking as she gets wet.  Just be prepared to get wet yourself as you run after the kids, and I suggest having a change of clothes for them on hand.

9. Buzz Lightyear's space Ranger Spin

Located in Tomorrowland, this attraction is fun for all ages.  Buzz Lightyear stands in the queue to greet guests and give them the details of their mission.  Then you board the ride vehicles, which each come equipped with 2 blasters.  Personally, we have found letting the kids sit in our laps and aim the blasters works best  for us.  They get to help hit the targets located all around the game, and the lever in between the two blasters lets them spin the ride car.  This ride even has a photo taken, so make sure you have your game faces on!

10. The Barnstormer

Located in Fantasyland, this ride does have a height requirement of 35".  However, it is the perfect ride for a child's first roller coaster!  The line moves fairly quickly, and fast passes are available.  The ride also doesn't go too high, and is over fairly quickly, so a young toddler won't be on the ride for too long.  We were able to take Kat on the barnstormer on her 2nd birthday, and watching her get excited while we were in line was so much fun.

And there you have it!  With so many choices at Magic Kingdom, you are guaranteed to have a great time with your toddlers.  These ten have been our must do's every trip, and I hope your little ones love them too! Stay tuned for the next addition of The Toddling Travelers!
