Hollywood Studios is a park full of fun and unique finds.  Home to some of Walt Disney World's most popular thrill rides, it can leave you wondering what there is for little ones to do.  But some of this parks best attractions are the wonderfully produced shows.  What we love about Hollywood Studios is the relaxed feeling it brings while we walk the park.  So in no particular order, lets dive in to my family's top 10 favorite toddler activities!

1. Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Located in the Animation Courtyard, this 15 minute show combines sequences from the beloved animated classic with live actors and effects.  The enclosed theater provides a nice break from the heat for little ones, and because the show is played continuously throughout the day there is no need for a fastpass.  Kat is currently obsessed with all things princess, and loves singing along with Princess Ariel.  There is a quick storm sequence, like what is seen in the movie, so if your little one is afraid of storms I would be prepared to hold their ears or cuddle them for a quick minute while that part passes.

2. Toy Story Mania

Our Final Scores

With the opening of Toy Story Land, this iconic ride has gained a brand new entrance, as well as an additional track.  Toy Story Mania is similar to Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters in Magic Kingdom, only now it is a 4D arcade.  Instead of laser guns, guests get 3D glasses and shoot cannons at different targets throughout out the ride.  My kids pulling the cannon's string to make it fire, while my husband and i do the aiming. It gets all of us involved, and brings out friendly family competition.

3. Alien Swirling Saucers

Also located in Toy Story Land, Alien Swirling Saucers is a spinning ride that does have a height requirement of 32 inches, so very little ones may not be able to ride this specific attractions.  This ride features spinning saucers that spin around the track, but also swing along onto the other tracks.  This swing makes the ride slightly different every time you ride, as the exact path and timing can vary based on where your saucer originally starts.  The ride is very similar to "Mater's Junkyard Jamboree" at Disney's California Adventure theme park in California.

4. Beauty and the Beast-Live on Stage!

The Finale

Every little prince or princess knows this tale as old as time, but watching their favorite characters come to life right in front of them is a real treat.  Kat knows the walk down Sunset Boulevard means we are heading for the show, and both her and Scott love seeing the characters sing and dance across the stage.  This is a show that the whole family can enjoy, and the outdoor amphitheater is shaded to allow a nice break as well.

5. For the First Time in Forever: A "Frozen" Sing-Along

The Finale

After the little ones have sung along to their favorite candle stick, a trip over to Echo Lake for this sing-along is a must!   This show features the newly appointed Royal Historians of Arrendelle, as well as a few of our favorite friends from the beloved film.  Everyone in the air conditioned theater sings along, and the historians make sure there are plenty of laughs as well.  And make sure to keep an eye out for some snow fall!

6. Mickey and Minnie Starring in Red Carpet Dreams

Who doesn't love a visit with their favorite mice!  Located on Commissary Lane, this meet and greet features Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer's Apprentice, while Minnie Mouse is dressed in her red carpet couture.  While you can meet Mickey and Minnie at every park, this meet and greet is the only place you'll be able to see them all dressed up.

7. Disney Jr Dance Party

Waiting with Scott for the Show

Located in the Animation Courtyard, this brand new stage show was designed with toddlers in mind.  Guests are seated on the floor, where kids are able to dance along with their favorite Disney Jr characters.  There is also limited seating in the back of the theater for guests who may be unable to sit on the floor due to age or medical reasons.

8. Star Wars Launch Bay

Also in the Animation Courtyard, Star Wars Launch Bay is the perfect stop for every young padawan.   Here they can meet BB-8 and Chewbacca, or even Darth Vader and Kylo Ren!  There is also a mini film, and several areas that you you can walk around to see items from the movies.  And be sure to watch out for the patrolling storm troopers!

9. Muppet Vision 3D

With the new Muppet Babies show on Disney Jr, toddlers everywhere are being reintroduced to the Muppets.  And on Grand Avenue, guests can visit the continuously running show called Muppet Vision 3D.  It combines a 3D film with live effects, and can be lots of fun for kids.   Before and during the show, one of the Muppets can even be seen walking around, so make sure you and your toddlers watch out for him!

 10. Fantasmic!

Located down a pathway at the end of Sunset Boulevard, this nighttime spectacular requires a stage separated from the rest of a park.  Now of course, this activity entirely depends on how the little ones are feeling at the end of the day.  But if they are doing well and happy, then this is an absolute must do.  Featuring characters, water projections, pyrotechnics and even fireworks, Fantasmic takes you straight into Mickey's dreams and imagination.  What my kids seem to enjoy is the fact that there is always something new happening, and this helps keep their attention on the show.  They have never gotten bored, and it is always the perfect way to end our visit to Hollywood Studios.

And that concludes my list for the top 10 toddler activities at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  My husband and I have watched Kat and Scott enjoy these activities time and time again, and we hope your little ones enjoy them as much as we do!  See you next time here at the Toddling Travelers.
